Includes front and rear differential and transfer case fluid replacement and inspection. Changing the front and rear differential fluid (also called gear oil) is critical because it is the only thing protecting the heavy-duty gears that deliver power to your wheels. Unlike engine oil, differential fluid is not filtered, meaning any metal shavings or contaminants that break off during normal operation remain in the fluid and act as abrasives against your gears. Over time, high operating temperatures cause the fluid to break down (thermal breakdown), reducing its ability to properly lubricate. This can lead to metal-on-metal contact, causing gears to grind, chip, or even seize completely.
